Feng Shui

Feng Shui is a structured method for understanding how physical environments influence human experience, behaviour and function over time.

FENG SHUI FOR YOUR HOME AND BUSSINESS

I work with feng shui and spatial advisory for buildings, land and environments, applied in a practical, modern and non-religious way.

The work focuses on how physical environments influence flow, comfort, decision-making and overall performance — across both private and professional contexts.

Professional applications

My work is applied across a range of contexts, including:

– New builds and renovations
– Collaboration with architects and developers
– Commercial, retail and hospitality environments
– Site, land and building-level analysis

The approach is always adapted to the specific context and delivered with discretion.

How the work is delivered

The work is advisory in nature and typically begins with an assessment of the site or building as a whole.

Recommendations focus on placement, orientation, flow, thresholds and overall balance, rather than decorative changes or stylistic preferences.

Work in professional environments is delivered discreetly and without public attribution.

For entrepreneurs, business premises, offices and other commercial areas are looked over to create an energy-rich flow that increases sales and customer flow. Logos, marketing, personnel, etc. are also looked at.

Feng Shui can create change in your life at any time.

Feng Shui is one of the tools to create a successful business that attracts customers, generates good profit and where the employees are happy. All successful businesses consciously or unconsciously have some measure of good Feng Shui. Below are various examples of areas of use for companies.

Examples of application areas in professional environments

Feng shui advisory can be applied in a range of business contexts where the physical environment plays a critical role in performance, perception and behaviour, for example:

  • When a business is underperforming relative to expectations
  • Prior to relocating, expanding or reassessing existing premises
  • When customer dwell time is low despite a strong service offering
  • In cases where sales or conversion do not reflect product or service quality
  • When turnover is high but margins remain under pressure
  • During periods of organisational change, such as growth, restructuring or new leadership
  • When reviewing brand expression, spatial identity or physical representation of the brand

Typical questions addressed through spatial advisory

The work addresses practical and strategic questions related to how physical environments support leadership, operations and brand expression, such as:

  • Placement of key functions and decision-making roles within the space
  • Location and orientation of entrances
  • Optimal placement of work functions, service areas or goods to support flow and efficiency
  • Visual identity considerations, including spatial placement, colour balance and material expression
  • Lighting, colour and spatial atmosphere in relation to function and use

What is Feng Shui?

Feng shui is often associated with interior design, but at its core it is a system for understanding how physical environments influence human experience, behaviour and function over time.

It is based on analysis of orientation, form, flow and spatial relationships, and how these interact with the built environment.

Applied in a practical and non-religious way, feng shui provides a structured framework for making informed decisions about placement, layout and balance in both private and professional contexts.

Examples of application areas for private homes

In private homes, feng shui is applied to support balance, comfort and everyday function. The work focuses on how the home environment influences well-being, clarity, rest and practical flow in daily life.

Feng shui consultation may be relevant in situations such as:

  • When the home does not feel supportive or comfortable, even if there is no obvious reason
  • Periods of stagnation or lack of flow in everyday life
  • Difficulties with rest, sleep or recovery
  • Challenges related to focus, studies or working from home
  • When it feels hard to settle, relax or feel grounded in the home
  • During life transitions, such as career changes or new phases in life
  • When renovating, remodelling or planning changes to the home
  • Before selling a property
  • When certain rooms feel underused, uncomfortable or disruptive
  • To improve spatial flow, order and functionality
  • To create clearer boundaries between rest, work and activity
  • To support calmer interaction and reduce everyday friction in the home
  • Questions around room use, furniture placement, colour and lighting
  • Garden or outdoor areas that feel uninviting or lack coherence

    The consultation

A consultation begins with an on-site assessment of the property and its surrounding context. This includes analysis of the building’s orientation, placement on the site, relationship to the environment, and overall spatial flow — both outdoors and indoors.

The work considers how entrances, circulation, proportions and spatial relationships influence function, comfort and balance within the environment.

Based on careful analysis and calculation, tailored recommendations are provided, adapted to the specific conditions of the site, the building and its intended use.

For the consultation, a scale plan of the property and any associated land is required.

New builds, renovations and site development

For refurbishments or new constructions, the advisory work can include guidance on floor plan adjustments, placement of buildings on land, site layout, garden planning and interior considerations.

All recommendations are adapted to the client’s wishes, functional needs and budget, and can be developed in collaboration with architects and other professionals where relevant.

Chue Style Feng Shui – Historical and methodological context

    (Yuen Hom Hexagram Method)

Chue Style Feng Shui is a classical system developed over centuries, based on close observation of natural forces and how human intervention — buildings, settlements and infrastructure — interacts with them.

The method is lineage-based, meaning that the principles and techniques can be traced through documented transmission from master to student over time.

Chue Style encompasses a range of analytical tools used to assess both outdoor and indoor environments, with particular emphasis on orientation, landform, spatial relationships and timing.

The Yuen Hom Hexagram method originates from classical Chinese cosmology and has historically been applied in large-scale and complex environments. Its analytical framework is based on the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching, which are used to understand change, balance and interaction over time.

The lineage can be traced back to the Song Dynasty (960–1279), a period known for significant advances in science, philosophy and spatial planning. Over time, the method has been refined and adapted to different contexts, while maintaining its core analytical structure.
